Nick's Race Summary

The day started out like any other. I woke up in a daze after hearing my dad open the door scream something that i just assumed was "get up!" and slamming the door. The day went on like and other, except at this track there was a ton of sand in the air so my eyes were always itchy and blood shoot but it really didn't bug me that much. The reason being is that with all that adreannaline pumping from being on the track and racing everything else just fades away. It's almost like every problem from before has just gone away and everything is all about having fun, and of course winning. Now everyone says that they do not race to win but deep down inside the feeling of winning is the greatest feeling in the world. It's almost like being a king for a few hours while the celebration is going on, but after that your no longer a king and you have to win to be one again. Now the term king is not the best term because the winner does not technically have more power than anyone else and the winner is not better than anyone. Actually most of the time when i win, i will never brag about winning nor will i say I'm amazing and better than the next guy, but of course it is flattering to hear. When the race came, my dad did a wonderfully job of reminding me of the pressure that i was under by saying "if you lose you lose the campionchip....so don't lose!". Wandering up to the grid i began to notice that i was at the front of the grid because of my pre-registration for the race. Now the driver's meeting was going on and all i got to hear was P.O. can is second start because i was getting oem wonderful advice from my brother Tyler and that advice was. "Go as fast as you can straight and when something gets in the way turn!" I got a few good lucks from other racers and said good luck to a few others and hopped in my Kart. The start was ok

My Race Sept 5th 2008

I woke up from the sound of the RV on Friday as I get up we start to move, then we pull into the gate to Thunder bolt race way. My mom says to mike, mike are you awake, as he mumbles yea why.
She says, are you awake enough to drive a golf kart? He quickly responds, yea sure, as he gets up, She says, are you sure, Mike I don't you to crash falling asleep at the wheel, and then I quickly say can I go? My mom pauses for a moment, then she responds yeah y not,
Then Mike, Nick, and I get out of the RV, of course we don't talk much because we just woke up. We get the key from our mother. We walk to the golf kart I feel the seats, as a shout, eww the seats are wet. Then Mike says, hold on he runs in the RV,
He comes out with a towel and we wipe off the seats, we start driving be hide the RV but they go faster and then we can’t see them through the fog. We keep driving and it takes about Ten minutes to get to the track, and I do about 5 practices and then it’s my race. I go to the grid with my kart and then we start the race, I start in about 4th I start to get into 3rd and I pull it off, then 2nd and I pull it off once again then I get passed by both of them then the final lap I fall out of the draft, and I get 4th by then I have better turns so I pass them and pull into the pits first, Then the next day my race was rained out.

Alex's point of view
