Nick's Race Summary

The day started out like any other. I woke up in a daze after hearing my dad open the door scream something that i just assumed was "get up!" and slamming the door. The day went on like and other, except at this track there was a ton of sand in the air so my eyes were always itchy and blood shoot but it really didn't bug me that much. The reason being is that with all that adrenaline pumping from being on the track and racing everything else just fades away. It's almost like every problem from before has just gone away and everything is all about having fun, and of course winning. Now everyone says that they do not race to win but deep down inside the feeling of winning is the greatest feeling in the world. It's almost like being a king for a few hours while the celebration is going on, but after that your no longer a king and you have to win to be one again. Now the term king is not the best term because the winner does not technically have more power than anyone else and the winner is not better than anyone. Actually most of the time when i win, i will never brag about winning nor will i say I'm amazing and better than the next guy, but of course it is flattering to hear. When the race came, my dad did a wonderfully job of reminding me of the pressure that i was under by saying "if you lose you lose the campionchip....so don't lose!". Wandering up to the grid i began to notice that i was at the front of the grid because of my pre-registration for the race. Now the driver's meeting was going on and all i got to hear was P.O. can is second start because i was getting oem wonderful advice from my brother Tyler and that advice was. "Go as fast as you can straight and when something gets in the way turn!" I got a few good lucks from other racers and said good luck to a few others and hopped in my Kart. The start was ok

My Race Sept 5th 2008

I woke up from the sound of the RV on Friday as I get up we start to move, then we pull into the gate to Thunder bolt race way. My mom says to mike, mike are you awake, as he mumbles yea why.
She says, are you awake enough to drive a golf kart? He quickly responds, yea sure, as he gets up, She says, are you sure, Mike I don't you to crash falling asleep at the wheel, and then I quickly say can I go? My mom pauses for a moment, then she responds yeah y not,
Then Mike, Nick, and I get out of the RV, of course we don't talk much because we just woke up. We get the key from our mother. We walk to the golf kart I feel the seats, as a shout, eww the seats are wet. Then Mike says, hold on he runs in the RV,
He comes out with a towel and we wipe off the seats, we start driving be hide the RV but they go faster and then we can’t see them through the fog. We keep driving and it takes about Ten minutes to get to the track, and I do about 5 practices and then it’s my race. I go to the grid with my kart and then we start the race, I start in about 4th I start to get into 3rd and I pull it off, then 2nd and I pull it off once again then I get passed by both of them then the final lap I fall out of the draft, and I get 4th by then I have better turns so I pass them and pull into the pits first, Then the next day my race was rained out.

Alex's point of view

Sunday the 7th of September 2008 was final race of the season and the best race of the season, with Anthony, Ameilion, and I. We started on 3rd flag, everyone left grid I had the lead for at least 3 laps before I saw Anthony pass me up on the straight away. So then I knew this was going to be a good race! As we flew through every corner of the race, trading off places from first to second and second to first almost every other turn. It was about half way thru the race, me and Anthony thought we were alone in this race because we didn’t see anyone else. Until ameilion come out of nowhere! Passed us both right before the turn! Since he wasn’t going much quicker than me I was right on him until he break checked me on that turn that came up. He hit the brakes hard even though he didn’t need to for that turn but because I was right behind him I had to slam the breaks too and swerve to avoid him so then Anthony passes me as well. I ended up catching them in the turns but we weren’t seeing the RPMs I need to pass them up on the strait away. So on the last lap we came out of the final turn before the strait away as ameilion Anthony then me. Then Anthony used ameilions draft to get next to him and then I was right behind Anthony and so I did the same to Anthony and so we were 3 wide on the final straight away but my kart ju8st didn’t have the top speed to maintain the lead so I got third by .083 of a second, Anthony got second by .0189 of a second and so Emeilion barley won that final race of the season. So after that race they calculated all the points for the year for both of our classes and I ended up winning the Light class by 6 points and I also won the Heavy class by 2 points.
I had fun at this race week end. I did not get a chance to race because of the rain. I normally get the kart's ready for the race by checking the tire pressure and clutch oil. My times are normally just as quick as any one else. I never even get real practice time before I get to race. i have one most of the races I competed in and kicked some ass. I have one other thing to say. No saw bucking here!
